It was announced today that Eidos-Montreal, Square Enix and musterbrand will be teaming up to make the in game clothing from Deus Ex: Human Revolution a physical reality. Launching tomorrow, the Deus Ex: Human Revolution store will offer clothing worn and inspired by the in game characters. EA’s newest entry into its Warhammer franchise has been officially announced and they have released a trailer just in time for Gamescom. Titled Warhammer: Wrath of Heroes, this new free to play title is a team-based action and strategy player vs. player title. Three teams of six players will face off to achieve objects and kill their enemies in a fast paced arena style battle. Sony announced an across the board global price drop on the PlayStation 3 today during their press conference at Gamescom. Affective imediately in North America and Europe, August 18th in Japan, the 160GB system will go from $299 (€299) to $249 (€249) and the 320GB will now retail for $299 (€299). EA Sport’s popular soccer/football/futball title FIFA is coming out in almost a month and it’s promising to be the biggest change in years for the franchise. With physics based collisions, more realistic injuries and smarter computer AI, on paper FIFA 12 is by far the best footie game ever made. To further stoke the passion of fans, EA released a new trailer at Germany’s Gamescon convention and announced a September 13th launch date for the North American demo.
Camilla d’Errico (Tanpopo, Sky Pirates) and Joshua Dysart (B.P.R.D., Unknown Soldier) have announced that their original graphic novel that has been in development for months, Helmetgirls: Origins, will be released in 2012. Dysart will be the writer, and d’Errico the artist, of the 140-page book based on the Helmetgirl portraits by d’Errico. Both creators have previously been nominated for Eisner awards, Dysart for Unknown Soldier and d’Errico for her short story “Little Red Riding Hood” with Bryan Talbot (One Bad Rat, Alice of Sunderland), and first worked together three years ago on the teen title Avril Lavigne’s Make 5 Wishes…

There is a part of me that wishes Nintendo would just drop the console business all together and start working on their own licensed games for other systems. I want to love Nintendo, I really do, but I just haven’t been interested in anything since the N64.
