Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is the latest fare turned out by Marvel Animation. In the wake of The Spectacular Spider-Man and Wolverine and the X-Men‘s premature cancellations, it certainly has some big tights to fill. Luckily, Avengers seems to hit more right than wrong. On April 13th, it was reported that Marvel Studios was wrapping up a deal with Joss Whedon to direct The Avengers movie, executive produced by Iron Man director Jon Favreau, and due for release in 2012. This anticipated film will do the unheard of and bring together characters (and their actors) from a number of superhero films into a single production to form the Marvel Comics team of the “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes”.
